What this covers

The common form: best day as a percentage of total profit.
Some firms measure against average daily profit, or apply it only at payout. Check your agreement.
Uses figures you enter. It does not read your account.

Formula and assumptions

Best-day share = best day's profit ÷ total profit.
Compliant when that share is at or below the limit.
Extra profit needed = best day ÷ limit − current total.
Largest allowable best day = total profit × limit.
Assumes profit is measured on closed trades, as most firms do.

Common mistakes

Discovering the rule at payout instead of at the start.
Chasing one large day to finish quickly, which is exactly what the rule penalises.
Assuming a losing day reduces the best day's share — it usually lowers total profit and makes it worse.
Reading the limit as applying per phase when the firm applies it to the whole account.
